Michael Salu is an award-winning Creative Director, Art Editor, Designer, Brand Strategist, Writer, Artist and Illustrator. Concept driven, his approach straddles both the machinations of the art world and the language of design. He has collaborated with and published many established artists including The Chapman Brothers, Sir Paul Smith, Yinka Shonibare, Nadav Kander and the 2013 Deutsche Börse winners Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin as well as providing a platform for emerging artists and designers to showcase their work.
Salu operates as a creative hub, developing concepts for a range of clients from interior
design, to photography, working with a wide network of creatives. He is also in the process of setting up a multidisciplinary creative agency - SALU.
He speaks regularly on art and visual culture at educational institutions such as the Royal
College of Art and The Photographer’s Gallery and as a cultural spokesperson, often moderates and participates in public events and discussions.
Salu is also currently writing a collection of short stories and his art, fiction, nonfiction and essays, have been published in magazines such as Eye, Under the Influence, Grey Magazine, Varoom and Granta.com
